Field Trip: Module C Week 1

Field Trip to La Brea Tar Pits & Page Museum – This Thursday!

When? Thursday, March 2nd (this Thursday!)

What time? ~10:40am-1:30pm (after 1st period quizzes)

Where? 5801 Wilshire Blvd. (Miracle Mile)

How much? Admission is $7.50 with student ID & group discount; Bus is $1.75 per ride ($1 for TAP card); UBER is ~ $2.00 if 4 people split a ride

  • Please give $7.50 cash to Shailee by 1:30pm on Wednesday!

Why? Our listening  chapter this week is “Dinosaurs: Why They Disappeared”.

Our vocabulary chapter is “Environmental Science” & next week it is “Geology”.

Homework (There is homework every day.):

  1. Vocabulary:
    • Chapter 16 Reading (pg. 161-163) & Exercise 1 (pg. 163-164)
  2. Reading:
    • Chapter 8 Reading Two – Reading Strategy (pg. 219-220), Active Reading (pg. 220-222) & Comprehension (pg. 223-224)
  3. Additionally . . .
    • Review the syllabus and curriculum guide.
    • Read the student handbook in detail.
    • Go over the first-day powerpoint again.
      • If you have any questions regarding any of this information/school policies/class schedules/etc., talk to the front desk, the CAO or your instructor!

FIELD TRIP NOTICE:

  • Please bring $7.50 cash to me by Wednesday @ 1:30, so we can get the group discount! Get your student ID, too, from the front desk.
  • This Thursday, we will go to the La Brea Tar Pits.
